Chittoor district collector and csr

Happy to note that Govt support to poor can be even up to 65K for motorised wheelchair. This is great. I know that in the case of cataract operation for poor people is still done free but using old method of making surgical incision involving bandage pain for a few days, not sophisticated implanted lens.

Support villages with Corporate Social Responsibility funds, Collector urges industrialists

Chittoor: As part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), District Collector PS Pradyumna made an appeal to industrialists to extend support to villages for improving basic amenities. He stated that there are 6,500 small, medium and large-scale industries in the district. The Collector participated in a programme where Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Southern Region Pipelines) in association with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) have distributed assistive devices for the physically-disabled here on Friday. On the occasion, the Collector expressed his happiness for the initiative taken by IOCL and ALIMCO for distributing 1,027 assistive devices for 268 disabled persons by spending Rs 20 lakh. Addressing the gathering, the Collector said the state government has introduced welfare schemes for the benefit of the disabled and senior citizens.  He gave a call to the industrialists to donate TV sets to the Anganwadi centres and government schools for improving skills of the students. ZP Chairperson Girvani Chandra Prakash, who presiding over the meeting, has expressed happiness over the initiative taken by the Collector for the welfare of the disabled. Later, the ZP chief has distributed assistive devices to the disabled. K Kanchana of Yadamari mandal said that she was feeling happy for getting Rs 65,000 worth motorised wheel chair at free of cost along with Rs 1,500 monthly pension under NTR Bharosa Scheme. Similarly, S Munirajulu of the same mandal got motorised tri-cycle worth Rs 37,000 along with Rs 1,500 pension and N Naresh of Chittoor got a wheel chair and pension. They along with other beneficiaries expressed thanks to the district administration for their initiative in providing the assistive devices for them. Chittoor MLA D A Satyaprabha, Chittoor Mayor K Hemalatha, Deputy Mayor Subramanyam, IOCL General Manager S Sunder, ALIMCO representative Anupam and others were present.
